Transforming Pressure into Progress
Across rapidly growing urban and peri-urban areas, economic, social, and environmental pressures are mounting. Youth unemployment is at record highs, urban expansion is straining infrastructure, waste is piling up, and food security remains fragile. Meanwhile, climate change is intensifying vulnerabilities, with communities struggling to adapt to erratic weather patterns, resource depletion, and inefficient energy use.
Despite these challenges, pressure breeds innovation. The EcoZone Initiative (2025-2030) harnesses these urgent needs as catalysts for progress, transforming local challenges into opportunities for sustainable development, employment, and resilience. It envisions urban and rural spaces as living labs, where practical solutions to climate, economic, and social issues are tested, scaled, and replicated.
Prioritizing local needs and empowering communities as the architects of change.
By 2030, we aim to implement 30 action-oriented pilot projects, serving as demonstrators for climate resilience, circular economy, and green entrepreneurship, adaptable across diverse urban and peri-urban contexts.
EcoZone is set to scale across 20 cities, with a strong focus on urban centers in Africa, where rapid urbanization, economic shifts, and environmental challenges require innovative, community-led solutions.
Rather than simply reaching communities, EcoZone seeks to empower 500+ community actors—including youth organizations, cooperatives, local enterprises, and municipal stakeholders—who will drive, sustain, and expand the impact of our initiatives.

Our Strategic Focus Areas
Energy Transition & Climate Resilience
We accelerate the shift towards renewable energy solutions to reduce carbon footprints and enhance climate adaptation. Our initiatives empower communities with sustainable energy practices and resilient infrastructure to withstand environmental challenges.
Circular Economy & Sustainable Resource Management
We implement circular economy principles to minimize waste, optimize resource use, and promote regenerative systems. Our approach fosters local business models that turn waste into economic opportunities.
Sustainable Mobility & urban infrastructure
Our approach to sustainable mobility focuses on promoting eco-friendly transportation options. We work with cities to develop integrated transport systems that reduce congestion and pollution while enhancing accessibility.
Nature-Based Solutions & Biodiversity
We integrate nature-based solutions into urban planning to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem services. Our strategies aim to create resilient urban landscapes that harmonize with natural systems and improve quality of life for residents.
Eco-literacy & green skills development
We foster environmental education and vocational training to equip citizens and businesses with green skills essential for the future workforce. Our programs empower communities to actively participate in the transition to sustainability.
Local Entrepreneurship & Inclusive Green Economies
We promote entrepreneurial ecosystems that drive innovation in sustainable industries, from urban farming to eco-construction and circular economy ventures. By empowering local changemakers, we foster inclusive and resilient economies.
